We are proudly to announce and present our venue for BlytheCon China Fashion Tour Beijing Station! We have chosen one of the landmark of Beijing-798 Art District. This art space Mirror Lake situated in the center of 798 Art District, was built in 50s of last century as an industrial plant, and is now preserved the transformation of the industrial Bauhaus architectural style, in order to meet the large-scale exhibitions and art activities of space. It is a creative space dedicated to new media, art creation, exhibition, international exchange . The event hall has been holding various conferences, press release, art exhibitions. Our event hall occupies 6,750 square feet, which can welcome up to 500 people.
798 Art District comprises a complex of 50-year-old decommissioned military factory buildings boasting a unique architectural style, located in Dashanzi, Chaoyang District of Beijing, that houses a thriving artistic community. In recent years, it has been the main venue for the annual Beijing Queer Film Festival and many other well known events such as Fashion Week and Beijing Design Week.
The district's popularity has exploded since the opening of BTAP and 798 Space in 2002, with scores of galleries, lofts, publishing firms, design companies, high-end tailor shops, and cafés and fancy restaurants setting up. In 2003, around 30 artists and organizations had set up studios or offices in the area, with 200 more reportedly on the waiting list to move in. At the same time, fashionable clubs also sprang up in the area.
